Step 1: Investigation

Our main goal was to create a brand-new dating app specifically targeted towards Gen Z users. Our focus was on developing a modern and user-friendly interface that would resonate with the target audience. A key challenge was incorporating AI into the app to streamline the user experience and make it more intuitive. By leveraging AI technologies, we aimed to simplify the user onboarding process, improve video recommendations, and enhance the overall usability of the Snack app for a seamless and enjoyable dating experience.

Step 2: Planning

In the Planning phase of the Snack project, our team focused on training the AI model that would power the app's functionalities. We integrated AI to enable features such as taking a personality test to find the most relevant matches, creating users' 3D avatars for a more personalized experience, and developing an AI-powered chat system that asks personal questions and generates biographies. Through careful planning and consideration, we mapped out the necessary data requirements, algorithms, and user flows to ensure a seamless integration of AI technology into the app.

Step 3: Design

We utilized Adobe XD to create wireframes and design for the app. The decision to use Adobe XD was driven by its powerful features for creating 3D elements. The challenge we faced was creating a cohesive user interface that seamlessly integrated elements of a chatbot, an Instagram-style feed, and the ability to create avatars. Our design team worked diligently to strike the right balance, ensuring an intuitive and visually appealing interface that combined these diverse features in a cohesive and engaging manner, enhancing the overall user experience on the Snack app.

Step 4: Development and testing

During the Development and Testing phase of the Snack project, our team focused on creating a seamless and fast iOS version of the app. Leveraging their expertise in Swift, the team developed efficient and optimized code to deliver a high-performing user experience. Thorough testing was conducted throughout the development process to identify and address any issues or bugs, ensuring the app's stability and reliability. The result was a polished and robust iOS app that provided Gen Z users with a smooth and enjoyable video-first dating experience.

Step 5: Release

The iOS version of the app was officially launched to the public in 2021. The release marked the culmination of the development process, making the app available for download and enabling users to connect, interact, and form meaningful connections on the Snack platform.
